Her parents belong to an artistic and recognized field where they have remained connected with various industries, so Priah developed her passion for acting and began with dancing classes. She is famously known for her enthusiastic role in the series called Stranger Things. Thereafter, she started joining acting camps, joined an agency, and came in contact with different people and this is how her career started evaluating at a young age. From there, Priah began her dream of acting for films and started by taking the step of enrolling herself at a nearby theater. Her mother explained to her that they are actors and this is how they work for any movie or television program. She once asked her mother about what they are called. Since birth, she was in love with watching TV and making people work for it. She used to talk a lot about different things whenever she used to go outside with her friends and family. Priah explains that she has always been an outgoing personality since her birth. The two daughters were brought up by their loving and caring parents named John Ferguson (a design director) and Adjua Ferguson (a graphic designer). She was brought up along with her younger sister Jayda with whom she often shares her roles, and stories, and expects to behave like younger in the films. Priah Ferguson was born in Atlanta, Georgia on 1st October 2006 making her around 16 years old as of 2022. In fact, her fan following increased drastically because of her mind-blowing performance in the role of Erica and she even surpassed some of the stars in the popularity. Despite star-studded cast in the fourth season of Stranger Things, she managed to land a breakout role for herself. ![]() She is an official Spokeskid for United Way of Greater Atlanta. ![]() She started her journey of acting by enrolling herself in the acting camps, and other classes at the age of 5. Atlanta's one of those places too, but it's also a place where you can just duck off and not see anybody for a week, or I can leave my apartment and spend a week with my mom. "Having the ability to work in a calm way where I'm not worried about the hustle and bustle of things. “Things didn't really start taking off for me until I came back home," Jones says. Upon returning to Atlanta, Jones wrote and shot Glitter Ain’t Gold, before briefly traveling to LA to direct an episode of Issa Rae’s upcoming HBO series Rap Sh*t. “It just matters what you're doing and if you're moving with a purpose.” I think people feel like they have to be in New York or LA for things to pop off, but it really doesn't matter where you are," says Jones. “I want to show people that it’s okay to be here in the city. Jones studied film at Howard University and New York University before moving back to Atlanta in 2021, after years of living away and making films throughout that time. It’s become this Hollywood backdrop, but there aren't many stories about Atlanta's culture or history or the regular people living here within the city and outside of it.” That's really important to me, especially when it comes to Atlanta itself. "That's something that the masses wouldn't normally think about when it comes to a Black community, so I wanted to shed light on that with this film and with the feature. “Atlanta is so diverse in terms of Blackness," says Glitter Ain't Gold creator Christian Nolan Jones. Similar to the sentiment behind the saying “Black people aren’t a monolith,” it’s important to acknowledge that Black people from Atlanta aren’t a monolith either. Over the last several years, we’ve seen different versions of Atlanta make their way to television and film screens, like 2006's ATL and Donald Glover's FX series Atlanta, but we haven’t seen it all.
